Airport Thuggin: Frank Ocean - "Swim Good"

My brother put me on to this young man a few weeks ago, and I have fallen in love. His latest mixtape, "Nostalgia" is a beautifully comical, melancholy blend of tracks. One of my favorites being "Swim Good" - a twisted love song about losing the one who holds his heart.

After listening two or three times, I realized that there are so many ways to interpret the lyrics. He sings of loading up his car and driving on a straightaway until the road ends, listening to Kanye's "808 And Heartbreak" album. Everyone knows that was an emotionally fueled CD, after his last break up. Now, my twisted imagination takes this song in so many directions. Has he killed his girlfriend, stashed her in the trunk with intentions of dumping the car and swimming to Mexico?

Does he plan on driving his car into the ocean and drowning because he lost his girlfriend?

Is this a metaphor to describe disposing of the old memories his former relationship held? Getting rid of everything that reminds him of his ex, then washing himself clean in the waters of Minnetonka?

The eerie ending to the track leaves lots to imagine. Each song does the same; some end in comedy, others in tragedy. You'd never even think of his affiliation with Odd Future, but then again - you've gotta be kinda sick to hang with Tyler the Creator...

Still no plane at the gate. Great. ((puts mixtape on loop))

Blind Fury - "Friends Before Lovers" ((Video))

If you follow 106 and Park's Freestyle Friday on BET - you know this young man is blazing a serious trail. I've never seen a lyricist go so hard without being able to actively see his/her opponent. He can sing a little, too. Now, he's got his first video out, and the song is really hot.  I love the storyline, can't wait to see what else he has in store!

Summer Body 2011 - Buffie's 3-in-1 Home Workout

Everybody knows I've been blazing this fitness trail for a while now. One woman who I genuinely look up to right now is Buffie the Body. She's a video vixen with a purpose. I've watched her over the years, and her body has truly transformed into an all-natural pyramid of muscle. Her butt is still the desirable large, round, juicy type that we women work hard for. Yet, she keeps her abs and arms toned and feminine. Her latest workout is do-able, but definitely looks like it will yield results. I will be implementing these in my warmup before my gym session tomorrow for sure. Spring is here, summer's around the corner - are we ready? You guys can do it too. Don't be scurred!!

Mountain Climber:

Rick Ross Feat. Drake - "Made Men" (Music Video)

Is it just me, or did the Bawse lose a little weight?? A nice Vegas vibe for a high-rolling video. Gosh, remember when the budgets for rap videos were so small? I wonder if these guys even have budgets anymore...

Chrissy Proposes to Jim Jones - Who's Brave Enough to Do This??

I teared up a little when I watched her get the balls up to propose to her man. When you've been with someone long enough, I think the respect is there for a woman to ask her guy to marry her. What does she have to lose? They live like a married couple as it is, this would just be a life upgrade for the both of them. He's got a good woman by his side, down for whatever. She's got a great support system who takes care of her and clearly loves her. I have a thing for young, Black love - because we don't see enough of it. We need more happy relationships displayed in public.

If you haven't watched the previous episodes, you might want to skip this one - it's a spoiler!

HTC Evo 3D - First Video Demo

I've only had my Evo 4G for about three months, and the 3D upgrade is already on its way out. I've never been one to try and keep up with the Jones', but I am curious as to how the 3D will operate. I love my Evo for its functionality and streamline performance, so the new version has got to be pretty awesome. Engadget is always first in line with new debuts - so let's see how the demo goes...

Lil Wayne - Carter IV Album Art

Carter III
So, the Carter IV release is pushed back again, but the album art has made its debut. We all remember the infamous Carter III cover, with little infant Weezy covered in tatts. The new album cover shows an elementary-grade Wayne with all his newest ink, even down to the neck tatts under his cap and gown. I must say, this one looks more official, and I think it's cute.

Carter III was my favorite Lil Wayne album,
simply because I stopped being fond of him for a while after 500 Degreez.
I just felt like his lyrical skill declined. But C3 was definitely his return. It was a Grammy winning album,
I wonder if he's going to be able to replicate that with C4...

Here's the new cover - I love it!

Keyshia Cole - "Take Me Away" ((Video))

This is such a feel good song - I swear it played about a dozen times on the drive from NC to Florida. Definitely proud of Keyshia for stepping her  game up over the years. Her vocal skills have improved, she stays out of the drama Hollywood can bring, and snagged her a handsome husband and gorgeous child. Take notes!!

P.S. - this would be the perfect opportunity for a remix featuring Eve or Fab - someone!

Jill Scott feat. Eve - "Shame" ((Full Video))

One of my favorite queens is back! Slimmer frame, same voice - gotta love it! I especially dig the intro - Peedie Crakk and Black Thought are two of my favorite MCs. Do the damn thing, Philly!

2012 Volkswagen Beetle

Volkswagen is definitely out for respect with this new Beetle. They expanded the cabin space, gave it a more intimidating body kit, and optional engine choices. I always thought they were cute - but this new style actually makes it sexy...

{{Via Car & Driver.com}}

"Powertrains for this front-driver will come from VW's vast parts bin, with the naturally aspirated, 115-hp, 2.0-liter four likely serving as the entry-level engine for the U.S. market. More power could come from the 2.5-liter five-cylinder, but VW might also make the switch to the smaller but more powerful turbo- and supercharged 1.4-liter TSI engine, which can make upwards of 170 hp, and the turbocharged, 200- or 210-hp 2.0-liter TSI from the GTI and GLI. This platform's possibilities are virtually limitless: There could be an R version with some 270 hp, a return of a TDI model, all-wheel-drive versions, or a hybrid. While the entry-level Beetle will likely keep its Aisin-designed automatic, the turbocharged models will get VW's dual-clutch automated manual transmissions.
Although engine choices are still in flux, an additional body style is a certainty: a convertible will again appear and is due to be launched a year or so after the hatchback comes to market. Look for the new New Beetle to debut at the New York auto show next April."
The price is  reasonable at $20k for the base model. I just gained a newfound love for the Bug!
Back resembles a Porsche...

What's Done In The Dark...

Furthermore, what's done on company email - always gets forwarded to management. Idiot.

A current GOP official was caught sending this disgustingly, blatantly racist email around yesterday. One of her so-called friends outed her on it, and now she is being asked to resign. She refuses. Do you think this is a funny joke?

She says she didn't even realize it could be deemed as racist when she sent it out. Anyone - ANYONE with even the smallest percentage of common sense knows this is taboo. NEVER associate a black person with a monkey unless you're ready for war. Even in our own community, we don't insult each other in such a way. I have friends who won't even put their infants in clothes with monkeys on it for this exact reason.

It belittles our intelligence, states that one thinks we are under-evolved or less than. We're a song and dance being trained by the white race. The list of associations could go on and on. I digress, though.

If you work for a person, but are willing to openly make fun of them (and leave a paper trail) - how much could you possibly respect them? In a position held so highly - a government official in the WHITE HOUSE!!! Not the Broward County Clerk's office (as respectable as they are) - but the oval freaking office. You think you can get away with this? I really hope no one tries to sweep this under the rug. She is clearly a racist, ignorant low life that does not deserve the honor of working anywhere near our first Black President. Or any president for that matter. Off with her political head.

808's and Heartbreak

So, it seems to be the season for breakups. We're all having them. Whether it be from a boyfriend, lover, long-term jumpoff - everyone's experiencing the blues. It's tough, but happens in life. How we handle it is the real test.

I have this girl I know, who seems to jump from one relationship to the next. Never fulfilled by anything that takes place in any of them. Was actually living with her ex when she started dating her new ex. Moved out of her mom's home to live with the ex, moved out of his place to live with the new. Never really getting closure with anything before starting the next thrill. Tried to warn her to slow down - she swore she was in love. Young girl - so she knows everything.

Now - they break up. She's hysterical. Calls out of work for two days, claiming to be sick. Can't function, won't eat. Is this what we do when we lose our boyfriends? I think we need to talk.

I won't lie - I've been in two major relationships in my 23 years, and it's devastating when things go sour. But never in my life have I lost the will to live over a man. Much less someone I was only dating for a few months. The problem is not knowing your self worth. If you don't value yourself first - no man will. And even if he does - you will never notice! What is it that you're missing in life that makes you need, absolutely NEED to be with someone all the time? There's a void you're trying to fill, and you've got to solve that issue before dating any man. Seriously. I tell you because I care.

The worst part is - while you're starving yourself - he's eating just fine. That should be an indication that you need to scrape your heart off the floor, have a sandwich, and start moving on. Even if you guys may get back together later down the road - is he going to want some broken, wounded woman? I don't know why you guys broke up, but regardless of the reason I know nobody needs to wear their heart on their face. It looks bad, pitiful even. And it further projects the stereotype that all women are fragile, overly emotional creatures. At least cry in the bathroom and drop some Visene in your eyes. We all have feelings - but no one needs to see them. You ever see a man looking distressed after his girl dumps him? How come we can't follow the same principle?

Lastly - this is what friends are for. Times like this are when you call up your comrades for a little venting and advice. Don't wallow in your sorrows and turn into mush. It's a turnoff. While you've got your head down crying - Mr. Right might walk by because he can't see your smile. Chin up, chest out, young lady!

So, sip a fruity drink, grab a book, write a poem. Find some release. And as my bestest friend always says: "Let no lame n*gga rule your world." Been our motto since 2002...

Accessory Season!

You guys know I make jewelry, and my trip to NY last weekend got me back in the mood. I haven't re-opened my online store yet because I have some things in the works, but I do have items for sale. I think I'll start posting them here - and you can place orders and make price inquiries to sn3akrfr3akr@gmail.com. The best part about making your own jewelry, is you can get all the colors that match your outfits! But anyway, let me know what you guys think. I've got plenty more coming - so stay tuned!

I'd love to hear what you guys think! I've got this new boost of creativity that I can't wait to share with you all...

Guess Who's Bizzack!

I've been slacking, I know. School, work - getting my fledgling bird off the ground. Life has been a whirl of blessings and curses. I'm ready to get back to you guys - I've got too much to talk about to sit here quietly. Here's a quick montage of the past few weeks (Yes, this was all in one month!)):
