Frank Ocean - "Thinking About You"

In tune with the eerie vibe he enjoys oh so much, Frank Ocean has come out with a video for "Thinking About You." Some of us remember the video for "We All Try," where the girl may or may not have set herself on fire. The production team Hi5Collective (Kanye & Jay's "No Church in the Wild", The Weekend's "The Morning") creates a story line that again deviates very far from the lyrics of the song - or do they? 


The video gives you the opportunity to create your own story. " Or do you not think so far ahead? Cuz I been thinkin' bout forever..." Whatever happened to this woman, the man was willing to trade his life for hers, inside her dream. In real life, though - she seems to be in a coma. Possibly because she risked her life for someone else? 




Figure it out yourself, lol. My head hurts...

Day 11|| Another picture of you and your friends

I have met a lot of people since I moved from NY to FL in 05' - but very few have had a real impact on my life. Gina and Aaron are two of the most awesome people I know. Aaron is a Jack of All Trades, and Gina is such a beautiful and compassionate creature. On this night out, we were at Aaron's house in Miami, enjoying the "summer" evening. 


Day 12|| How you found out about Blogger and why you made one...
MySpace was my blogging outlet - but it limited the way I could get my words across, and who could read them. CousinJin created a Blogger first, and I quickly followed suit. I love the layout. Expanding to WordPress in the near future...




13|| A letter to someone who has hurt you recently


Short and sweet. I heard the resentment in every word - but I chose to ignore it. I'd die for either of you. This is what I get. I still don't understand what I did to deserve it, but I respect your decision. I can only hope you find a friend as dedicated as I. Loyalty is Everything - you said it. I wish you the best in life, because I continue to live mine.

Beyonce - "1+1" ((video))

The Queen has released her video for "1+1," and of course there is a lot of discussion already. The question is if there is illuminati symbolism floating through the video - and it's not hard to tell that something subliminal is going on. I, personally think it was an allusion to her pregnancy, but I could be totally wrong. It is definitely very sensual, and I enjoyed watching it regardless. 


I am a God fearing woman, so I disregard all the other possible hints going on in these videos. I enjoy the music. Everyone else should, too...


Congrats again to Bey and Jay on their upcoming child, babies are most definitely a blessing...

Monica is a staple in R&B music. She takes her breaks, but she always comes back strong. She picked a great feature by putting Rick Ross ((Rosay)) in the video - and Missy is a sure bet when it comes to production. Classic sample, and I love the hook. There's a version with Lil' Kim out as well, I'm kind of interested in hearing it... 


OOh, and Monica got a little thicker. Gone head, girl!

9|11|11 - NY Til I Die...

New York is my heart. My livelihood. I moved away and truly got the chance to recognize her beauty. She held me in her bosom for eighteen years; made me strong, made me smart, made me quick. I can't thank her enough. Being so far makes me want her even more - but I know the time apart brings us closer. I could talk about NY all day. 

September 11, 2001 really changed my perspective on the world. The freedoms we have as Americans.The simple pleasures like walking to the corner store at any time of night. Falling asleep on the Subway or Metro North until you get to your stop. The Macy's window at Christmas time. Helado on Fordham Road. The things I know and love!  You can't get that anywhere else. To know they could each be taken away in one series of events was terrifying.

I can recollect the happenings of that day like it was yesterday. Time moved so slow. Being unable to find my family, my aunt walking home covered in ash. To think about it makes me sick sometimes. Yet, I am hauntingly proud to say I was there. I feel my chest puff up as I re-live my personal history of the event. I am a New Yorker - you can hear it in my speech, see it in my stance - note it in my constant sense of urgency. I will never change that. I can't. It's buried deep in my DNA. From the day my parents came to this country, NY was their home. And it became my heart. Mi corazon. And I thank God every day for keeping us safe - because so many didn't make it home to tell the tale. We are blessed to be able to tell our siblings about this day - so they too will remember. Lest we forget. NY til I die...

This one goes out to LittleOne - Kendra. I really appreciate when I find good people in life - and you are one of the great human beings on this earth. I admire your Mommy skills, your ability to adapt in any situation and see the positive. I need more people like you in my world. 

I wish you nothing but the best on your move to Orlando - you know it's a great excuse for me to leave SoFlo (and drag G with me). I love you - please stay awesome! 

This next week is gonna fly past - and we have to ride the hell out of it til the wheels fall off - can't wait!
